as/æz/prep.像;如同;作为 adv.像……一样 conj.当……时;随着;因为
as 的用法。
(1)as 作连词,表示“当……时候;随着”,引
导时间状语从句,侧重于主句与从句的动作同时进行。
eg:You will grow wiser as you grow older.
随着年龄的增长,你会越来越聪明。
as 还可意为“因为;由于”。
eg:Everyone likes him as he is kind and honest.
由于他的善良和诚实,每个人都喜欢他。
(2)as常用的几种结构:
as...as...
意为“和……一样……”,表示同级比较,两个as中间用形容词或副词的原级。
This jacket is as new as yours.
这件夹克衫与你的一样新。
as...as possible=as...as one can/could
意为“尽可能……,尽某人所能……”。
You should work as hard as possible.
你应该尽你所能努力工作。
as soon as
意为“一……就……”,引导时间状语从句。
I will tell you the truth as soon as you come back.
你一回来我就告诉你真相。
as long as
意为“只要”,引导条件状语从句
I will give the book to you as long as you get here on time.
只要你按时到达这儿,我就把这本书给你。

even/'iːvn/ adv.甚至,更,还
eg:He speaks Japanese even better than English.
他讲日语甚至比英语还好。
可用来修饰形容词、副词的比较级。
eg:She writes even more carefully than Tom does.
她甚至比汤姆写得还认真。
用来修饰比较级的词(组)还有:still,much,a little,a bit,a lot等。
Debbie is growing fast.She is even ________ than her mother.(北京)

【点拨】考查even的用法。even表示“更;还”时,后接形容词或副词的比较级,故选B。句意为“黛比长得很快。她甚至比她的妈妈还高。”
