阿拉伯数字谁发明的?
世界各国数字的方法有很多种,其中一种数字是国际上通用的,这就是阿拉伯数字:0、1、2、3、4、5、6、7、8、9。
其实,阿拉伯数字并不是阿拉伯人发明的,而是古代印度人创造的。古时候,印度人把一些横线刻在石板上表示数,一横表示1,二横表示2„„后来,他们改用棕榈树叶或白桦树皮作为书写材料,并把一些笔画连了起来,例如,把表示2的两横写成Z,把表示3的三横写成等。
