【拓展】developing形容词，意为“发展中的”；developed形容词，意为“发达的”。
spread动词，意为“扩展；蔓延；传播”，其过去式和过去分词都为spread，与原形相同。
amount名词，意为“量；数量”。
①an amount of意为“许多；大量的”，后接不可数名词。
eg：There is a large amount of work for us to do.有大量的工作等着我们去做。
②the amount of意为“······的总数量”，后接不可数名词。
eg：I don't know the amount of the money.我不知道钱的总额。
【拓展】a number of意为“许多；大量的”，后接可数名词复数；the number of意为“······的数量”，后接可数名词。
【注意】用形容词修饰amount或number时，表示“大量的”，应用large；反之表示“少量的”应用small。
